Cookies and other automated data collection tools
In this policy, cookies and other automated means (e.g., web beacons) will be referred to collectively as “cookies”, unless explicitly stated otherwise. This section provides definitions and information about some of these technologies and how they work.
Cookies
A cookie is an alphanumeric text that stores a website on a visitor’s computer and which the visitor provides each time he returns to the site. The vast majority of websites use cookies. Because the browser provides this information to the site at each visit, cookies serve as a kind of tag that allows a site to “recognize” a browser when it returns. Cookies store information about your activities on a site or on another platform. For example, cookies may store session information for easy connection to a website or other platform you previously visited. They allow the eartgallery.gr website to be more enjoyable and to improve its functionality.
Clear GIFs
Clear GIFs (also known as web beacons) are used in conjunction with cookies to help website administrators understand how visitors interact with their web pages. A Clear GIF is usually a transparent graphic image (usually 1 pixel x 1 pixel) placed on a site. Using a Clear GIF allows the site to measure the actions of the visitor by opening the page containing it. It makes it easier to track and record the activities of a recognized browser, such as the path of the pages you visited on a site. Clear GIFs, which can be embedded in web pages, videos, or emails, can allow a web server to read specific types of information from the browser, check whether you have seen a specific web page or e-mail, and determine, including the date and time at which the Clear GIF was displayed, the IP address of your computer, and the URL of the webpage from which it was viewed.

We may also use cookies on the eartgallery.gr website to store session data on your hard disk. If we combine any information collected by passive means with personal information, we treat the combined data as personal data in the light of the specific Privacy Policy. In other cases, we use the data collected by passive means in aggregated statements with an anonymous character.
